Dale Rayburn  received a B.A. from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and an M.F.A. from the University of Mississippi in Oxford. He has taught at LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia and at Georgia Southwestern College (later Georgia Southwestern State University) in Americus. His work is on display at the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens, High Museum of Art in Atlanta, and White House in Washington, D.C.
