William J. “Bill” Gordy was born in 1910. His Cartersville shop, the Georgia Art Pottery, was located along the Old Dixie Highway. Gordy was part of a family of potters, including his father, W. T. B. Gordy, and younger brother, D. X. Gordy. He died in 1993.
